Back Bay is down an Indian restaurant after Boston Indian Kitchen closed its doors, making way for a potential new restaurant, Boston Restaurant Talk reported. A British-inspired restaurant called Cornish Pasty Co., which has its roots in the Southwest, will be moving into the space.
Boston Indian Kitchen first opened in January of 2015, as previously reported. The windows at the 51 Massachusetts Ave. eatery have been papered over, and the space now apparently displays a sign for the new pasty restaurant, BRT wrote.
Cornish Pasty Co. has locations in Tempe, Mesa, and Scottsdale, Ariz., as well as Las Vegas and a forthcoming Phoenix, Ariz. location. Its menu features pasties, or baked hand pies, which consist of a filling wrapped in pastry dough. There are meat- and vegetable-filled options, along with sides, salads, and soups.
A post on the restaurant's Facebook page confirms the forthcoming Boston location, with a recent comment indicating Cornish Pasty Co. will do a buildout of the space and could open this coming fall.
