The North Shore has welcomed a new restaurant to its ranks with the opening of Mission on the Bay in Swampscott. The restaurant, which is a new building on the site of the former Red Rock Bistro at 141 Humphrey St., is now officially open, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, and an employee reached at the restaurant Monday confirmed its opening.

The restaurant — which comes from noted restaurateur Martin Bloom, who founded the Italian chain Vinny T's — has been in the works since last summer. Mission on the Bay was constructed from the ground up, and it features classic New England menu items and an upper deck with a stunning ocean view.

The menu includes a mix of seafood appetizers and entrees, including shrimp and lobster cocktails, burrata, mussels, scallops, blackened red fish, and more. There are also pastas and sandwiches, as well as a brunch menu.

Mission on the Bay is open from 4-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 4-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Weekend brunch will go from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
