Welcome, Broadside

A shuttered Irish pub in downtown Boston was reborn last week under new ownership and a new name. Broadside has officially debuted at 99 Broad St., taking over the space where Barney Fanning's once stood (it closed in December 2015) and offering plenty of beer, sports on television, and a fancy ceiling.

Broadside is the work of the same team that was responsible for The Irish Times Pub & Restaurant, which closed in August of last year to make way for a condo development, as previously reported. Broadside is just across the street from The Irish Times' old location.

The space that Broadside now occupies has been newly renovated and has subway-tiled walls, new bar equipment, and booths with plenty of room for kicking back with a beer and imbibing in some pub-style fare. Broadside will be open seven days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., according to its Facebook page.
