A popular Back Bay bar "where anything can happen" closed in 2014 but now appears to be on the verge of making a comeback, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Daisy Buchanan's may reopen in its original space at 240A Newbury St. Newbury, as Universal Hub reported.
Daisy Buchanan's first opened in 1970, but closed in 2014 when news came up that the building the iconic bar occupied was purchased and would be developed into high-end retail space.
The restaurant's owner, Joe Cimino, is apparently planning to reopen Daisy Buchanan's but has plans for a more "bistro-style" place with a limited menu. He may be able to retain the liquor license for the restaurant for a future reopening, provided the City of Boston licensing board grants its approval for the matter.
The building on the corner of Newbury and Fairfield is currently under renovation but could see the return of this popular hangout when it is complete. Stay tuned.
