Sun's Out, Buns Out: An Illustrated Guide to Great Patio Sandwiches

The best things on buns that you can eat on some of the best patios in town

Warm weather has arrived, and there's one important thing to do: Eat outside. That's why we're celebrating Outdoor Dining Week here on Eater Boston — we're sharing maps, guides, and more to help you find the best patios for wine-drinking, where to eat dollar oysters outside, and more.

For many people, warm weather means that it's time to eat burgers and hot dogs outside, so here's an illustrated guide to some of the best bun-based dishes Boston has to offer at restaurants that also happen to have excellent patios. Take Audubon's veggie burger, for example — a tasty specimen topped with chipotle aioli to be eaten on a secluded, bamboo-surrounded patio near Fenway. Or there's the chicken schnitzel burger at KO Pies, which has a lovely patio in a shipyard in East Boston, featuring spectacular views of the downtown skyline.
