Change is imminent in Harvard Square as a massive development project that prompted the closure and relocation of a number of restaurants in the area gets underway. One local restaurant completed its transition to a new location, marking its first day in its new space on Massachusetts Avenue on Tuesday, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
The new Harvard Square Clover opened at 1 p.m. yesterday, just five days after closing its first-ever brick-and-mortar location at 7 Holyoke St. Clover HSQ2, as the new incarnation has been dubbed, occupies a historic space at 1326 Massachusetts Ave. The building dates back to 1913, when it was the Waldorf Lunch.
In its renovations, Clover uncovered a full roundup of tiled Ivy League pennants and a banner-like mosaic of crimson H's along the walls, and the team decided to preserve this bit of history.
The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
