A development in Downtown Crossing has successfully leased all 335,000 square feet of its commercial space, with Caffè Nero becoming the latest addition to the list, the Boston Business Journal reported.
Millennium Partners, the group behind the Millennium Tower and the adjacent Burnham Building, signed a deal with the European-based coffee shop ahead of the tower's summer opening, according to the Boston Herald. There are a number of other Caffè Nero locations in the Boston area, including one on Washington Street near the Chinatown MBTA stop, less than a half mile away from the planned new location. (That one is also in a Millennium Partners development, Millennium Place.)
The forthcoming Caffè Nero will occupy 2,200 square feet of space in the Burnham Building at Summer and Hawley Streets, serving up its classic Italian coffees, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and lunch fare.
Caffè Nero has other locations in Jamaica Plain, Longwood, the South End, and Andover, with a Wellesley location and a Fort Point cafe in the works.
