A former Irish pub in Downtown Boston is under new ownership and undergoing renovations to reopen as a new Irish restaurant, Boston Restaurant Talk reported. Broadside will be opening at 99 Broad St., where Barney Fanning's used to be, with an opening date in early May, according to recent posts on the restaurant's Facebook page.

The people behind The Times Irish Pub & Restaurant purchased the Barney Fanning's space after being ousted from their own location to make way for a luxury condo development, as Eater previously reported, and they will be opening Broadside soon.

Earlier in April, Broadside posted photos of the renovations and announced an anticipated April 27 opening date, but today, new updated photos of the space indicated it would not quite be ready tomorrow and speculating that the date would be pushed back to May.
