A restaurant in Worcester is getting ready to debut the first element of its operation with the opening of its cafe this week. According to a post on its Facebook page, Lock 50 will kick off business with coffee, breakfast, and lunch service.
The contemporary American restaurant located at 50 Water St. is still a few weeks away from featuring the dinner menu from chef Tim Russo, formerly of Volturno, but it is now taking reservations for Mother's Day brunch.
Lock 50's breakfast menu includes a selection of pastries, fruit salad, yogurt and granola, and ricotta served with dried fruit and honey. There is also a selection of crepes, including a classic Nutella, banana, and hazelnut combination, along with some savory options like the roasted mushroom, goat cheese and fresh herb crepe, as well as the blue crab, cream cheese, and grilled scallion crepe.
Lunch features soups, salads, and sandwiches, and the coffee served in the cafe is sourced from Equal Exchange Coffee Roasters, according to Lock 50's website.
Update 4/27, 10 a.m.: Lock 50 officially opened its cafe today at 6:30 a.m., sharing a photo of some of its offerings on its Facebook page. The cafe will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Lock 50 will host a Mother's Day brunch with a six-course family-style menu.
Update 5/10, 3:30 p.m.: Lock 50 softly opens for dinner service tonight at 5 p.m., according to a post on its Facebook page.
