A popular restaurant and bar near Harvard Square in Cambridge closed for good on Monday after 16 years of business, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. West Side Lounge made good on its planned closure from February, with a post on the restaurant's Facebook page thanking customers for their years of support.
"Thanks to all of you who have made the West Side experience so memorable. A final cheers to you!" the post read, in part. West Side Lounge was listed for sale in February. The restaurant's owner, Charlie Christopher, is also behind Cambridge Common and Christopher's. West Side Lounge first opened in 1999 at 1680 Massachusetts Ave., and now that it has closed, Christopher will shift his focus to his two remaining restaurants, as previously reported.
West Side Lounge was known for its American-style fare, small plates and appetizers, appealing cocktails, and hearty entrees like pan-seared salmon, burgers, and steak frites.
