"We are furiously trying to get the business open for Marathon Monday, so our race is on," founder Todd Moore told Eater. "The mayor has been very helpful in trying to expedite this."
The store will be modeled after the original Haymarket location, featuring the full lineup of Cuppacoffee beverages, ranging from lattes and macchiatos to flat whites and long blacks. The Australian inspiration comes in with the lineup of savory treats: breakfast pies, sausage rolls, and both meat and veggie pies. There are also assorted pastries, and Moore said the store's homemade Anzac cookies and lamington cakes have proven quite popular.
"Our plan is to grow our businesses through to 2017, perhaps with another Boston location, then take a serious look at a model for expansion to other markets not just in Boston," Moore said.
Cuppacoffee's South End location opened this past September, and the Back Bay store has been in the works for some time.
