A robbery reported at a cafe in Arlington turned into charges for the manager and an alleged accomplice, according to Universal Hub. Police arrested Lyca Blume, an employee of Kickstand Cafe, on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy, among others, as Wicked Local reported.
Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan reported Blume's arrest, along with the arrest of her alleged accomplice, in a release on the department's website. Police responded to the cafe at 594 Massachusetts Ave. Wednesday evening, where they met Blume, who reported that a man had entered the restaurant, pepper sprayed her, and took money from the register and back room of the cafe before leaving. She apparently described the car and the man, who matched the description of the same man who later came to pick up Blume, police said.
"An investigation concluded that the two suspects worked together to stage a robbery of the cafe in order to obtain cash from the register," the release said, and police are investigating whether a third person was involved in the alleged incident.
Kickstand Cafe is situated just off the Minuteman Trail and serves a range of breakfast dishes including sandwiches, oatmeal, and smoothies, along with lunch and dinner options like salads, sandwiches, and soups. There is also a selection of coffee beverages and teas.
