A two-and-a-half-year-old Concord cafe, Haute Coffee, will go before the Cambridge Planning Board tomorrow to present plans for a location at One Canal Park. The East Cambridge building, located by Lechmere, is also home to the recently opened Tahaza Hummus Kitchen.
Haute Coffee's original location, which is on Walden Street in Concord Center, seats 19 and offers a variety of coffees, teas, and other beverages, as well as breakfast and lunch.
The new location, which could open in June, will offer the same coffee, treats, and breakfast as the first one, but the lunch menu might be slightly different, says co-owner Kimberly Scott, who owns Haute with her husband Rob. Haute Concord serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily — a selection of sandwiches, a tartine of the day, and a soup of the day.
The design process is currently underway, but the new location will likely look different from the old because the Cambridge one is in a newer building, while the Concord building, located in the historic district, is quite old. Haute Cambridge "will still have that cozy feel but a bit more bright and airy," says Kimberly. Plus: more seats. "We were looking to expand and we had several cities on our list," says Kimberly, when the Cambridge location appeared "at the perfect time."
Haute features a number of local purveyors, including EHChocolatier from Somerville, Iggy's Bread from Cambridge, and Spindrift from Charlestown.
