A popular North End Restaurant will mark its 30th anniversary with an expansion into a neighboring space. Trattoria il Panino, from local restaurateur Frank DePasquale, will debut its new concept on April 8 when it officially takes over the former Caffe Pompei space on Hanover Street.

The two restaurants will become one mega restaurant that can accommodate 250 guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus weekend brunch and late-night dining on Fridays and Saturdays. There will be two entrances to the new space — one on Hanover Street and one on Parmenter, the latter of which will be open for lunch and dinner.

A patio in the rear will connect the two spaces, which will both serve the same menu, carrying over some of the specialties from Trattoria il Panino's chef, Willy Lopez. Dishes include lobster fra diavolo, zuppa di pesce, and gnocchi alla Sorrentina, plus breakfast pastries, a risotto of the day, and Neapolitan pizza, for which there will be a six-seat pizza bar.

Updated hours for the expanded Trattoria il Panino will be breakfast from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., dinner from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., and late-night dining until 4 a.m.
