A restaurant in Dorchester that has been around for nearly 40 years is getting ready to permanently shut its doors. Gerard's Adams Corner Restaurant & General Store will close on March 6 as a deal is finalized with the restaurant's new owners, according to the Dorchester Reporter.
Gerard Adomunes, who has owned and operated the restaurant since 1977, told DOT News the new owners plan to remodel the space. He's been offering special prices on breakfast, lunch, and dinner all week.
The neighborhood learned of the sale of Gerard's in November. Christopher Roche, Russ DeMariano, and Ed Brooks are the ones purchasing the building, as previously reported. Their plans for a new restaurant include a bar and dining area, and the proposed name — according to licensing documents — is K O'Brien's Kitchen and Tavern.
The liquor license from Gerard's will go to Aloft Lounge, which is set to be on the first floor of a hotel at 401 D Street.
