A contemporary American restaurant in Waban closed its doors for good last weekend, and its staff will shift focus to its sister restaurant about a mile down the road. Waban Kitchen's owner Jeff Fournier posted on the restaurant's website that it would bid adieu to the local community following service this past Saturday, March 26, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
"With this move, we're truly looking forward to devoting more creative energy and focus to our flagship restaurant, 51 Lincoln, in Newton. We're also thrilled that our Waban team will be making the move down the road with us to 51," Fournier wrote in a note on Waban Kitchen's website.
Fournier went on to say that this isn't goodbye, and that he hoped guests would visit 51 Lincoln soon. Waban Kitchen served a range of appetizers and small plates, including some seafood dishes and hearty entrees.
Over at 51 Lincoln, Fournier's farm-to-table menu includes items like popcorn and porcini mushroom soup, rigatoni bolognese, pork and mushroom ravioli, and much more.
