One pizza place moved out of Union Square, but another will move in, taking over the now vacant space on Somerville Avenue. A4 Pizza closed permanently last November, months after an electrical issue forced its closure, along with that of its next door neighbor, Dosa N Curry, which was able to reopen in January.
Now, the people behind Dosa N Curry are working to open a new pizza place in A4's stead, which will serve vegan and vegetarian pizzas and will dabble in "nice cream" or vegan ice cream, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page. The restaurant will be called Veggie Crust, as Boston Restaurant Talk reported.
Dosa N Curry, which specializes in North Indian, South Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisine, put up a sign at 445 Somerville Ave. advertising vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free pizzas, nice cream, and "meatless everyday." The sign also says Veggie Crust will be "coming soon." Eater has reached out for more details on a timeline for opening and will post any updates as soon as they are available.
