Two James Beard Award-winning chefs are teaming up to open a new restaurant in Central Square, as previously reported, and they need some help. Jamie Bissonnette and Ken Oringer are now hiring for a handful of positions for Little Donkey, a new concept that will bring "globally inspired small plates" to Cambridge, according to a job posting on Poached. While the restaurant was previously slated for a spring opening, Bissonnette's website currently states that the opening could happen this summer.
Bissonnette and Oringer are seeking an assistant general manager, a bar manager, a sous chef, and a front of house service manager, according to the job postings. The pair (also behind Toro and Coppa) received approval last September to get the liquor license once held by Takemura, Eater previously reported. Trevor Smith will serve as chef de cuisine at Little Donkey.
Possible dishes for the restaurant include crab nachos, harissa barbecue lamb sliders, and ox cheek pierogi, plus a raw bar, caviar, and charcuterie, as Cambridge Day reported following a licensing commission hearing. Little Donkey will be opening at 505 Massachusetts Ave.
