A new restaurant in Central Square is serving up brothy goodness. Happy Lamb Hot Pot, a relative of the Little Sheep Mongolian hot pot restaurant chains, recently opened up at 485 Massachusetts Ave. and has plenty to offer in the way of soups, meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles.

Happy Lamb — which seats 134, per a previous Cambridge licensing commission page — replaced a Japanese restaurant on Mass Ave., bringing to the neighborhood its three types of broth, extensive soup additions, and non-hot pot sides like steamed rice and shrimp skewers. The restaurant also has sake, beer, juices, and teas.

Reviews are rolling in on Yelp, where Happy Lamb currently has four and a half stars. Reviewers noted the dual-broth option (for a taste of both mild and spicy), as well as the lamb shoulder.

Happy Lamb is open Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
