A European-based chain of coffee shops is expanding its presence in the Boston area, with its latest addition popping up in Andover. Caffè Nero officially opened at 77 Main St., serving its Italian-style coffee beverages and cafe pastries.

This is the latest in a string of new stores for Caffè Nero, which is also working on a Fort Point location at 368 Congress St. as well as one in Wellesley. Caffè Nero, which started in London in 1997, has more than 650 locations worldwide, including four in Boston: Downtown Crossing, Longwood Center, the South End, and Jamaica Plain.
The Andover space features floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, in addition to a fireplace and cushy booth and table seating. The coffee shop is open 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekends.
