A bar near Harvard Square is on the market, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. West Side Lounge at 1680 Massachusetts Ave. will be sold, an employee confirmed.

The Cambridge restaurant, which serves cocktails, small plates, and assorted entrees, first opened in the late 1990s and is working with the Boston Restaurant Group for the sale. The reason prompting this move is unknown, but the 1,600-square-foot space that can accommodate 85 has been listed for sale with BRG.

Eater has reached out to BRG for more details on the sale and will post updates when they are available.

Update: A representative from the Boston Restaurant Group said Charlie Christopher — the owner of West Side Lounge who's also behind Cambridge Common and Christopher's — bought the space in 1999 and listed the property so he could concentrate on the other restaurants. A previously reported listing price for the space was incorrect.
