The reincarnation of a Vietnamese restaurant in Cleveland Circle is complete. Jade Monkey opened at 1952 Beacon St. on Friday in a flurry of snow and Asian fusion dishes.
The new restaurant emerged from the former Sa Pa space under the same ownership but with a much different vibe. The full-service, sit-down Jade Monkey specializes in dishes like barbecue baby back ribs, crab rangoon, fish bowls with Faroe Island salmon, bao buns, and more, according to a number of posts from guests on the restaurant's Facebook page.
Jade Monkey joins a handful of restaurants in this Boston College-adjacent section of Brighton, including Cityside Bar, Boloco, Chipotle, Eagle's Deli, and Pino's Pizza, but it brings a different kind of cuisine to the table, complete with a "Monkey Bar" for assorted alcoholic beverages.
