Sneak a Taste of Mamaleh's Delicatessen at Eastern Standard

The upcoming Kendall Square Jewish deli will offer a preview on March 5.

The Mamaleh's Delicatessen team — currently aiming for a "May-ish" opening at One Kendall Square, according to co-owner Rachel Miller Munzer — will be popping up at Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, March 5 to offer a small preview of what's to come, including a smoked fish sampler and delicatessen pastries. The items will be available a la carte, served alongside Eastern Standard's usual brunch offerings. There will also be special drinks from Mamaleh's co-owner Evan Harrison, including egg creams, celery soda, a seeded rye Manhattan, and more. Reservations recommended; find several methods on Eastern Standard's website.

Mamaleh's will be the new little sibling (and neighbor) of State Park, and the team also has a yet-unnamed replacement for Hungry Mother in the works. There have been lots of potential Mamaleh's menu items popping up on Instagram, including raspberry rugelach (in the works for Saturday's event), half moons (or "black and white cookies," depending on where you're from), gribenes, and kreplach.

Can't make it to Saturday's pop-up? Just swing by State Park. Sample items have been showing up on the menu there as well.
