A new Japanese fusion place will join the already expansive stretch of restaurants under The Fuji Group's name, and this time, it will be in the heart of the city that its creators call home, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. This new edition of Fuji will be part of a large development project called West of Chestnut in Quincy, where local restaurateurs Jimmy Liang and Peter Tse got their start, the Boston Herald reported.
Fuji at West of Chestnut will be the tenth restaurant in the group and the largest with the Fuji name — others include Fuji at Assembly, Fuji at Kendall, and Fuji 1546. The 5,000-square-foot restaurant space inside the 169-unit luxury apartment community will accommodate Fuji's large Asian fusion menu, sushi dishes, and much more.
"For someone who started a company in Quincy based on creating unique and memorable dining experiences, the opportunity to be part of the most exciting development in Quincy is a once-in-a-lifetime thing," Liang said in a release.
In addition to Fuji, a second restaurant and a cafe or bakery concept will move into West of Chestnut. The Fuji Group also has plans to open a location in the South End's Ink Block development.
