As a local vegetarian chain opens a new location in Boston's Downtown Crossing, one of its locations in Cambridge is gearing up for a move. Clover will be taking over the former Yenching space in Harvard Square, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

Yenching (1326 Massachusetts Ave.) was a long-time staple in the Harvard area that closed down in December after 40 years in business. Clover, just around the corner on Holyoke Street, confirmed to the Harvard Crimson that it would be relocating to the now vacant space within the next couple months.

The move is apparently motivated by a construction project at the site of the current Harvard Square Clover (7 Holyoke St.), known as the Smith Campus Center. Clover and a handful of other business will reportedly be displaced by this project.

This is not the only project Clover has in the works: Its first-ever Boston restaurant opens today in Downtown Crossing. Clover partnered with The Food Project for the occasion and has invited customers to "pay what you want" for food today, with proceeds going towards the charity.
