A Cambridge restaurant that was heavily damaged in a 2014 fire is about three months out from reopening, according to a Cambridge license commission hearing page. MuLan Taiwanese Restaurant and its neighbor Beauty's Pizza have been shut down for renovations for the better part of the last 14 months, since a fire ripped through the structure at 228 Broadway.
MuLan submitted a letter to the Cambridge commission indicating plans to reopen "in approximately three months, when the repairs due to the fire are completed."
At the time, fire officials assessed the damage to the restaurant and suggested that the place would need to be gutted and rebuilt. Beauty's Pizza is still closed, and its website indicates it will be opening again soon.
MuLan, which has another location in Waltham, serves a mix of traditional and modern Taiwanese and Chinese dishes, like dumplings, soup, noodles and rice, and hot pot, plus assorted vegetables, fried rice, and more.
