A bakery chain has just opened a second Boston-area location, this time in Lexington, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Great Harvest Bread Company has opened at 233 Massachusetts Ave., just north of the second regional location on Walnut Street in Newtonville.
The bakery, which started in Montana in 1976 and has more than 200 locations across the country, is known for it muffins, scones, and other baked goods; assorted coffee beverages; artisan breads, including honey whole wheat, Dakota, cinnamon chip, "high 5 fiber," and other seasonal options; sandwiches, like the chimichurri roast beef and the portobello banh mi; granola; baking mixes; and much more.
In the northeast, Great Harvest also has locations in Nashua, NH; North Kingston, RI; Vernon, CT; and Burlington, VT.
UPDATE (2/17/16, 1:30 p.m.): This is a new location for the bakery, which was previously open elsewhere in Lexington.
