The group behind a number of restaurants in the Fenway area and beyond has plans to open a modern deli and restaurant in Lower Allston, near Harvard Business School, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. The Franklin Restaurant Group (Franklin Cafe, The Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar, Tasty Burger) aims to open a restaurant serving classic Jewish deli foods with a modern twist.
According to a post on Craigslist, the group is looking for a general manager, a chef de cuisine, and a bar manager who can work together to create this new as-yet unnamed restaurant, which will reportedly feature "a deep craft cocktail program."
Plans for the restaurant include "a beautifully designed space" complete with patio seating, a wine loft, and a dining room with a retail area, per the post on Craigslist. The exact location of the restaurant hasn't been announced, but corporate filings suggest 197 North Harvard St. The restaurant is registered under the corporate name Our Father's Deli, LLC (which won't necessarily be the actual name of the restaurant).
Meanwhile, on the other side of the river, the State Park team is also working on opening a Jewish-style deli, Mamaleh's Delicatessen.
