Fresh off the opening of a restaurant in Allston last month, the Chicken & Rice Guys are now building up to yet another hatching and will open a fourth brick-and-mortar restaurant, this one in Downtown Crossing, towards the end of January.
CNR is taking over the space at 280 Washington St., near a Chipotle and a Clover on School Street. The restaurant is already prepared for its traditional kickoff of this new location, with a “Grand Hatching” scheduled for January 21. As is custom, the first 50 people in line will get free meals, and one lucky diner will receive a “Golden Coin” that is good for free Chicken & Rice Guys meals for life.
This new location continues the flood of chicken plates and white sauce Chicken & Rice Guys started in 2011 when it rolled out food trucks in Boston. CNR now has multiple trucks and multiple restaurants in Medford, Allston, and Downtown Boston (takeout only), plus a pop-up in the Prudential Center.
Update, 3/2/17: The Grand Hatching has been rescheduled to mid-March.
