Winchester will soon be home to a purveyor of Italian food that has made a name for itself feeding the Greater Boston area family-style meals. Comella’s is expanding to the town, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

Comella’s will take over the space at 529 Main St., which was previously home to Pizza Express NY Deli. It will join a number of existing Comella’s locations spread out around Greater Boston, including spots in Needham, Wellesley, West Roxbury, Chestnut Hill, and Bedford. Most recently, Comella’s opened a restaurant in Hingham.

The restaurant and Italian food retailer serves family-friendly appetizers, sides, wings, salads, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, pizza, and more, including a mystery "Family Mess," which could feature anything from lasagna to eggplant or pasta shells. Wicked Local Winchester reported that Comella’s received town approval for a beer and wine license, though there is not yet a set opening date. Eater has reached out to Comella’s for more information and will provide any updates as they are available.

Update, 2/20/17: These plans have fallen through, and Pizza Express remains open, reports Boston Restaurant Talk via The Winchester Star.
