Two chains have plans to expand to South Boston, bringing both spice and comfort to the neighborhood. Texas-based chicken chain Wingstop has the area tapped for its third location in the Boston area, while London-based coffee chain Caffe Nero plans to open another shop, cruising solidly into double-digit numbers for its cafes in the area.

Both Wingstop and Caffe Nero are slated to open in the building located at 416 W. Broadway, according to a post on Twitter. The location is situated just across the street from Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar. Wingstop most recently opened a restaurant in East Boston, bringing in its 11 flavors of wings that range from standard varieties like barbecue and teriyaki to lemon pepper and garlic parmesan, along with sides like fries, beans, and cole slaw. It has another restaurant in Medford as well.

Meanwhile, Caffe Nero has experienced tremendous growth in the Boston area over the last year, opening new cafes in Wellesley, Cambridge, and in Brookline Village, as reported earlier, to name a few. Jay Gentile, director of U.S. operations for Caffe Nero, confirmed plans to open at 416 W. Broadway and roughly estimated that the cafe would open in mid- to late spring.
