Some restaurant shuffling will happen soon in West Bridgewater, just a few months after one longstanding spot shut its doors with little notice. The Charlie Horse, which closed down in August at 674 West Center St., as previously reported, will be replaced by a Barrett’s Alehouse within the next six months, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
The Charlie Horse’s owner, Mary Barrett-Costello, had closed the restaurant on account of the cost it would require to remain in the 22,000-square-foot location. The incoming Barret’s Alehouse is the work of Barrett-Costello’s brother, Mike Barrett, who has existing locations in Bridgewater, North Attleboro, and Fall River, as The Enterprise noted. He is also behind Fireside Grill and Castaways Bar and Grille.
The restaurant will reportedly be renovated, with the bowling alley getting swapped out for a large function area. There will also be a game room and a large bar.
