Cambridge and Somerville are both climbing the ladder towards peak poke: Yet another restaurant featuring this Hawaiian specialty plans to open its doors on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, close to the forthcoming Manoa Poke Shop and one MBTA stop away from the newly opened Pokéworks in Davis Square.

A new restaurant called Poke City has an application in to the City of Cambridge to take over the former Tisan Coffee Express space at 1722 Massachusetts Ave., according to a city license commission hearing agenda. If approved, the restaurant will seat 20 people and will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

The manager of record for Poke City will be Hong Qing Chen, and listed among the corporation information for the restaurant is Siwei Huang, who is also connected to Yaka Sawa Sushi in Ashburnham.

Cambridge’s Poke City is not connected to an existing Poke City in Denver, CO.
