Chestnut Hill’s The Street retail development has been getting into the pop-up game over the past year, filling a space dubbed “The Pop-Up” (3 Boylston St.) with a rotating array of businesses for a few weeks or months at a time. There have been a number of food options over the course of the year, including Kane’s Donuts, OMG! Bagels, and Rancatore’s Ice Cream & Yogurt.
Currently, The Pop-Up space is hosting Ronsky’s, a project from James Beard award-winning chef Ron Suhanosky that serves Italian-inspired cafe, breakfast, and lunch items.
With Ronsky’s slated to stay in that space at least through the end of 2016, The Street is opening up a second pop-up space, this one at 49 Boylston St. (between Pinkberry and Shake Shack). Its first occupant is a “Willy Wonka-inspired” candy shop called Sweet Tart, The Street announced today, and it’ll be around for a month. It’s under the same ownership as Sweet Tart in Newton Centre, a shop that serves frozen yogurt and more.
The pop-up location of Sweet Tart, decorated with a candy-adorned pink tree, serves up a giant array of pay-by-weight candy, from chocolate-covered gummy bears to strawberries & cream malt balls. There are also boxes of macarons from Southie-based Miam Miam Macaronerie, candy-themed apparel, and more.
Sweet Tart will be open at The Street from today (December 1) through January 2, 2017. Check it out from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
