A soon-to-open poke shop in Porter Square has another pop-up planned for this week, following last week's appearance at Naco Taco in Central Square. This time, Manoa Poke Shop will partner with the newly opened Lamplighter Brewing Co. for five hours of Hawaiian poke and beer pairings.
The pop-up starts at 5 p.m. at Lamplighter in Cambridge (284 Broadway), and there will be veggie-friendly options as well. The menu will be released on Thursday, just ahead of the event, but the previous pop-up included tofu, shrimp, and tuna options and a whole host of toppings. Manoa will pop up until 10 p.m.
Lamplighter is in the midst of its opening week and has a series of events scheduled for each day of the week, including the Manoa pop-up.
Previously (11/9/16): A poke restaurant opening soon near Porter Square will be popping up later today in Central Square. Manoa will serve up poke tacos and mai tais at Naco Taco from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
This pop-up at Naco Taco will be the first chance for diners to get a taste of what’s to come from the Hawaiian poke place, which is set to open at 300 Beacon St. in Somerville, as previously reported. Josiah Bonsey and James Acer, who are part of the team behind Manoa, which will showcase all manner of poke (pronounced poh-kay) when it opens. There will be five or six kinds of poke, including fish and tofu options, along with daily specials and seasonal additions.
For tonight, the poke will take the form of tacos: tuna, shrimp, and tofu options will be available, with toppings like radishes, chives, cucumber, toasted sesame, and more. Here’s a look at the menu for tonight:
