Waltham welcomes a new restaurant to its ranks today. Brewer’s Tap & Table officially opens at 256 Moody St. with a small starting menu, craft beer, bourbon, wine, and cocktails — and much more to come in the days ahead.

The work of Matt and Nancy Sargent, Brewer’s Tap & Table will start out with eight menu items and a dessert, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page. Items include fried mushroom fritters, house-made sausages, beet salads, and banh mi sandwiches.

At the bar, there will be dozens of craft beers to start, eventually hitting 48 taps, and along with cocktails and wine, Brewer’s Tap & Table will have a wide selection of bourbon and single malt whiskey.

The Sargents recently hosted a few dinners at the restaurant as a pre-opening to preview the space and give the neighborhood a taste of the menu.
