Out of the blue, a growing group of food trucks and restaurants adds another brick-and-mortar location to its lineup tomorrow. Chicken & Rice Guys will debut a previously unannounced Allston restaurant at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, celebrating with the patented "grand hatching," which includes 50 free meal cards and a magical Golden Coin that guarantees one customer free CNR for life, as Boston Magazine reported.
The Guys quickly snapped up a lease at 81 Harvard Ave., which was previously a shoe store called At the Buzzer, located next to Common Ground. The turnaround happened very quickly, hence the lack of buildup to the opening of the new location that the CNR Guys had for their restaurants in Medford and Downtown Boston.
The Hatching in Allston kicks off at 11 a.m. tomorrow and runs until 11 p.m. Chicken & Rice Guys will serve its popular menu of rice plates topped with halal-style chicken, beef and lamb, or tofu, plus a handful of sauces — and baklava as a treat to round out the meal.
