On Wednesday, November 30, the South End will finally get to behold what chef Douglass Williams and his team at Italian restaurant Mida have been working on. The website describes the space at 782 Tremont St. as a “neighborhood restaurant, rooted in, but not limited to Italian culinary traditions.” Mida translates to “he gives me,” which the kitchen says means that “every meal we create is meant to be a gift just for you.”
The menu ranges from daily salumi to pork lardo to grilled oysters to whole roasted monkfish. There’s equal parts of land and sea, as well as small plates and larger entrées. Williams told Boston Magazine, “I want to make it approachable. If you want to have your own entrée, it’s perfect.”
Mida is currently taking reservations for the public opening. After tomorrow, the restaurant will open nightly from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (10:30 p.m. on Sundays). The bar will stay open later for imbibers.
