A second concept will soon open at a Winthrop restaurant. Chef Jay Silva, formerly of Bambara in Cambridge, took over JW’s in July and is now ready to unveil a casual pizzeria as part of the operation. Marco will make its debut at JW’s on December 8, according to the Winthrop Transcript.
Silva rebuilt the space that will house the pizzeria, which adjoins JW’s and will offer takeout and delivery. This addition has been in the works since Silva took over JW’s this summer, as previously reported. Marco will seat 50 people and will offer calzones, sandwiches, appetizers, salads, assorted Italian entrees, and specials, in addition to pizza.
On the other side, JW’s serves a mix of hearty entrees, pasta, raw bar items, and more. The restaurant hosts live entertainment and events, and it will celebrate the opening of Marco on December 8 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
