A Worcester cafe is getting ready to open a second location in the Boston area. A Somerville outpost of NU Café & Juice Bar opens this weekend, filling Union Square with juices, smoothies, coffee, pastries, and much more.

NU Café is the work of founder and CEO Joshua Van Dyke, who has spent the last year preparing the space at 195 Washington St., in the base of a new condo development, as previously reported. The cafe will seat 60 people, with 12 counter seats along the window, and it will accommodate everything from casual dining to meet-ups. Customers will be able to get meals to go and can place orders online to pick up in the cafe.

The eatery prides itself on sourcing local ingredients and all-natural meats for its menu, putting its own spin on cafe fare. NU Café’s menu spans breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with items like sweet potato quinoa muffins, breakfast sandwiches, salad and grain bowls, wraps, soups, and even a selection of local craft beers and wine.

NU Café will host a grand opening party this coming Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The cafe’s hours will be 7:30 a.m. through 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. through 8 p.m. on Sunday.
