A storied Adams Corner pub that closed down last month is under new ownership and ready to undergo renovations. Sonny’s Pub in Dorchester will be transformed into an updated bar and restaurant space for the neighborhood, according to the Dorchester Reporter.

One of the new owners, David Arrowsmith, told the Dorchester Reporter he wanted the place to have a modern look while offering American comfort food at reasonable neighborhood prices. Martin Davis (formerly of the Littlest Bar) joins Arrowsmith in overhauling the longtime neighborhood spot. Sonny’s had been around for nearly 50 years and closed down at the end of October, as previously reported.

While Arrowsmith and Davis have not yet shared a name for the new bar and restaurant, construction will begin soon at the 750 Adams St. space, which could open next spring.
