A new restaurant is slated to open inside a residential development in South Boston. Publico Street Bistro has secured a section of the first level of the forthcoming Allure at 11 Dorchester and is on track to open in January 2017, according to Boston Magazine.
Keenan Langlois (formerly of The Sinclair, Gaslight Brasserie, Union Bar & Grille) will take charge of the menu at Publico, which will seat 150, complete with a bar and main dining room, plus an atrium/garden area that also has a bar. At one point, the restaurant was to be named Republic and originally planned to seat 240, but the developers revised the plans to curb noise in the neighborhood, as previously reported.
The menu at Publico will reflect assorted global influences, potentially including crepe dishes, chicken asado, and pizzetta, as Boston Magazine reported. The restaurant is now under construction and will open for dinner early next year. Publico is the latest in a recent series of restaurants opening in residential buildings around the city; others include Bar Mezzana at the Ink Block in the South End and the newly opened Pabu at the Millennium Tower and Area Four at Troy Boston.
