A Back Bay restaurant will close its doors after 26 years, ending the long reign of its popular rooftop patio. Rattlesnake Bar & Grill, home to Poe’s Kitchen from chef Brian Poe (Tip Tap Room, Bukowski’s), will shutter soon, according to The Boston Globe.
The Rattlesnake first opened in 1990, originally operating on the second floor and rooftop of the space at 384 Boylston St. Soon after, the restaurant expanded to the first floor and in 2009 formed a partnership with Poe, who introduced a Mexican and Southwest-inspired menu. The Rattlesnake’s rooftop patio has been a popular spot for post-work gatherings and summertime hangouts.
Poe’s Kitchen serves cantina-esque items, including chips and salsa, tacos, tostadas, burgers, yucca fries, and nachos, alongside margaritas, numerous kinds of tequila, sangria, beer, and wine.
Update, 11/15, 9 a.m.: Boston Magazine reports that the Rattlesnake has officially closed.
