A Nantucket restaurant is finally opening a sister spot in the Boston area. Lola 41, a bistro and sushi bar from Marco Coelho, will soon be joined by Lola 42, which is slated to open on Fan Pier, according to the Boston Business Journal.
This new restaurant will open on the ground floor of Twenty Two Liberty, which is a new luxury development set to open in 2017. Mastro’s Steakhouse will also be opening at Twenty Two Liberty, as previously reported. In 2013, Lola 41 explored an expansion to Boston, aiming for a second restaurant of the same name in Back Bay, Eater reported at the time, but those plans fell through.
Lola 42 will serve similar cuisine to its sister restaurant, including sushi, soups, salads, burgers, steaks, and more. It is currently targeting a February 2017 opening.
The restaurant adds to the tremendous growth of Boston’s Seaport District in the last few years. As new development projects roll in, restaurants come along as well, and Lola 42 joins a growing list of new places slated for the neighborhood, including Sorelle, Yo! Sushi, Better Bagels, and Aceituna, to name just a few.
