A new restaurant for Asian cuisine officially opened its doors in Belmont. The former Asai Restaurant space at 30 Leonard St. is now Shine’s, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, and the restaurant serves a variety of Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese dishes.

Asai was around for 18 years until its owner decided to retire. The new proprietor of Shine’s restaurant is Shine Huang, who moved to the northeast from Alaska, where he lived and operated a restaurant that was also called Shine's, as Wicked Local Belmont reported.

The menu at the new Shine’s consists of a broad range of sushi, assorted appetizers, soups, salads, curries, fried rice, noodles, and much more. The restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Delivery is available from noon to closing.
