A sandwich spot in Downtown Boston has permanently closed, cutting off its flow of hoagies, salads, and soups to the neighborhood. Beantown Hoagie at 102 Water St. has been papered over, with no visible indication as to the reason for the closure, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
The sandwich place served as a go-to destination for lunch, per a number of reviews on Yelp. It offered a selection of salads (some topped with chicken), specialty sandwiches and wraps, hot sandwiches, panini, and classic hoagies. Sandwiches were available for walk-in customers and for takeout or delivery.
Beantown Hoagie is now listed as "permanently closed" on Google, and its website is no longer operational. It will reportedly be replaced by a new restaurant called Curry House, per BRT. Other lunchtime options nearby include Villa Mexico Cafe, which opened on Water Street in January, plus Pita Thyme, Boston Kebab House, and Casa Razdora, to name just a few.
