A popular D.C.-based salad chain that’s been laying down roots in the Boston area will unveil yet another new location next week, this time in the city’s downtown. Sweetgreen is set to open its 87 Summer St. restaurant on Tuesday, October 18.

Since it first arrived in Boston in 2013, Sweetgreen has opened eight locations, including its most recent addition in the Ink Block development in the South End, as previously reported. The chain is not stopping there, either: Another restaurant is set to join the salad fray, this time across the river in Cambridge's Harvard Square, at 39 JFK St.

Expect to see a similar menu at Sweetgreen’s new Summer Street location, including items like curry cauliflower and warm pesto portobello quinoa bowls. The chain serves a season-driven menu of customizable salads and grain bowls and sources locally within the region each group of locations calls home. There are other Sweetgreens in D.C., California, Maryland, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
