After months toiling away, building out a space and planning a menu, Rachel Klein is ready to unveil her new restaurant, RFK Kitchen, in Needham. Friends and family turned out for an event at RFK Kitchen this week, and the place will officially open to the public this Friday, October 14.

Klein, the former executive chef of Liquid Art House and an alum of OM, the Mandarin Oriental, and more, announced plans for RFK Kitchen in September 2015 and left Liquid Art House in November to concentrate on her new restaurant full-time.

Klein lives in Needham with her family and wanted to open a place in the town in which she was personally invested, she previously told Eater. Located at 30 Dedham Ave. in Needham Center, the restaurant is meant to have a "fun, urban feel" with a 20-seat counter facing an open kitchen. Klein’s team includes chef de cuisine Stacy Cogswell, another Liquid Art House alum, as well as Crystal Hovland as pastry chef and Quang Tran as sous chef.

The restaurant will offer a chef’s tasting menu, family-friendly items, takeout-friendly rotisserie dinners, and more. The menu will continue to evolve over time, and the team plans to add new items each week. RFK Kitchen will initially be open from 5 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Saturday, with lunch and brunch hours launching soon.
