Starbucks could open a new location in Boston Park Plaza, according to Universal Hub. The coffee chain is apparently seeking approval to open in the old Melting Pot location at 76 Arlington St. The fondue-themed restaurant closed in March 2015, with the owners expressing hope that they'd find another Boston proper location one day. Other nearby Melting Pot franchises exist in Bedford, Framingham, and Providence.
The nearest Starbucks to that location is currently .2 miles away on Charles Street.
The City of Boston's zoning board has a hearing scheduled on the matter for January 12 at 9:30 a.m.
