A New Hampshire-based restaurant and butchery could open in the Boston area, but not in any old spot: Tuckaway Tavern and Butchery has its sights set on the former Hilltop Steakhouse location on Route 1 (well-known for that large cactus) according to Boston Restaurant Talk.

The specialty meat market in Raymond, New Hampshire has been around since March 2012, adding the tavern in June, and posted on Facebook about a potential purchase of the Route 1 real estate.

The Tuckaway Tavern's executive chef, Bobby Marcotte, told Wicked Local he felt the old Hilltop location "is most definitely our number one choice as we have been keeping a close eye on the property since we first opened our concept in Raymond." Hilltop closed in October of 2013 after 52 years in business, and the building was later razed.

The deal is not finalized yet, but Tuckaway will reportedly keep the giant cactus sign if they open on the site.

Tuckaway Tavern is known for its top-quality meat market and specialty foods. It also sells craft beer, wine, and organic foods including nuts, granola, and more. On the restaurant side, it offers appetizers, burgers, grilled meat cuts, stuffed peppers, sandwiches, among many other options.
